Druid Hills is a federal historic neighborhood in Hendersonville, North Carolina, located northwest of the city's central business center. Druid Hills was established in 1923 and follows the "Olmstedian" style of land planning, evidenced by its curved lanes bordered with mature trees and open areas. The Leander Justice House, built before the neighborhood was established, is significant for being the only example of an I-house in the district. Small one-bedroom bungalows to large three-bedroom homes with open porches are available in a variety of sizes. Many of the houses in the community are set on large lots with plenty of yard space to enjoy the outdoors. With property prices starting in the low six figures, this is an affordable neighborhood to purchase a first home. Druid Hills also has many mid-sized houses available for individuals ready to accept a slight increase in price in exchange for increased space. Price ranges for Druid Hills residences range from approximately $41,000 to $3.2 million that offer interior living space ranging from 1,267 to 11,287 square feet. Most dwellings were constructed between 1880 and 2021 that feature one to four bedrooms and two baths on average. Several property types are available in the area, including single-family homes, loft-style apartments, and townhouses, being the most common housing types.

Neighborhood Location

Druid Hills is nestled west of US 25 North and right across the street from Patton Park in the city's heart. Ridgewood Avenue defines the northern boundary, which is generally viewed by Meadowbrook Terrace. The eastern border is defined by US 25 North, Ashwood Road defines the southern edge, and Ridgewood Avenue defines the western boundary. The region is well-known for its pleasant climate, four different seasons, and a plethora of opportunities for outdoor recreational activities.
