" To animals born in captivity
and fated to be ignored and abused,
I've dedicated this organization."
- Bobbi Brink, Founder
My bride and I recently visited a big cats and exotic animals rescue / forever home located on 93 acres outside of Alpine, CA part of our East San Diego County, a mere 40 minutes from our coastal home. Lions Tigers & Bears is one of only 36 Accredited Non-Profit Sanctuaries in the world! They provide a safe haven and long-life care to animals in need.
A very beautiful and rural area with mature oaks, rolling hills and dramatic rock formations, this facility is the vision and passion of Founder Bobbi Brink, whom we had the pleasure of meeting while on property.
Since the early 1990's Bobbi has been involved in the efforts of shutting down the exploitations and abuse of exotic cats and animals and educating the public on the -

abuse that occurs in roadside shows, pop-up circuses, Las Vegas shows and Hollywood Films, school mascots, privately owned and the worst; hunting clubs where these animals are imprisoned in a pen and hunted down by weak men that are not hunters and have no soul when it comes to what they shoot.
We met so many lions and tigers and bears today. This beauty, I believe his name is Louie, a true white lion that was rescued by Bobbi.
Below you see Nola, who was rescued as a 5 month old cub from an unpermitted location in New Orleans. She was the first to greet us today, her enclosure is located right at the sanctuary's entrance. She's an amazing white tiger, which we were sad to learn is not naturally occurring, in fact man manipulates it by inbreeding the animals. Then they are left with shortened lives due to developing crossed eyes, disproportioned bodies for their organs, disease and other ailments that would not otherwise affect them.

We learned a lot today, our hearts were broken several times hearing the deplorable scenarios these animals were rescued from, but then filled with joy to see them thriving in their new, well cared for conditions, knowing they will live out their lives here on acres, not in cages.

Wild animals are NOT meant to be pets. So many of their rescues came from apartments, backyards and private citizens - insane right?
