The 1st Winter Storm of the Season

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Ward County Notary Services 607851

We have been very lucky this Fall of 2021 that this is our first real snowfall of the season. We were predicted to get 5" to 8" of snow but I think this was more like 3". Because the temperature was close to freezing the snow has pretty much stayed put and not blown around.

One of the members of our church drives past the Minot Air Force Base to get to worship said she only saw one Airman in the ditch on her way to worship... that's pretty good. There are times that the first snowfall will cause a dozen or more cars from the base to be in the ditch. Keep in mind that many of these Airmen/women have never even seen snow before today much less driven in it.

When it's icy 5 mph can be to fast Kathy Streib . Normally with the first snow storm there are dozens of cars in the ditch between the base and the city. Maybe the number was down because it was a Sunday.

I would probably end up in the ditch since I am not used to having to drive in snow, haha.

Hello Bob - and it's still not Winter.  But I am sure North Dakotans are well-prepared.

We just had our first snow this past Saturday - probably about 3 inches as well. I laughed about the airmen/women - I'm sure they'll all be much better by the end of the season!

Good morning Bob. An interesting way to determine the severity of a snow storm by counting the cars in the ditch at the Air Force Base. You don't have to be in Minot to see people unable to drive in snow. Chicago is an excellent canvas. Enjoy your day and keep the snow up there.

Endre Barath, Jr. it is not unusual for us to see lows in July in the 50's 😃. That being said, if your not used to it then you have the right to be cold.

It has been a while since I've been in the ditch Brian England but no one is a master at the wheel when the road is glare ice.

I think most North Dakotians are Michael Jacobs but then again there are new drivers every year and drivers education is taught in the summer months so those kids learn the hard way as we all do.

Let's hope they learn quickly Kat Palmiotti . These are young men and women and many love the mussle cars of today which are even harder to control in snow and ice.

I would bet that the body shops do well in Chicago (just as they do here) Wayne Martin . I think I'd do all I could to avoid winter driving in the big city.

We have had a couple of years of drought (or more) Will Hamm so our farmers and anyone associated with Agriculture is very excited when ever any moisture falls.

Hi, Bob "RealMan" Timm - In Sedona, we have had a handful of days under freezing in 15 years we have lived here. All I can say is YIKES!  - Our "snow" is nothing like what you get.
