I thought long and hard about a miracle at Christmas time. This about a fulfillment of a dream the Phyllis and I had for a long time and it happened just before Christmas 1988. How appropriate this is too for a real estate blog!
Ever since we were married in 1978 and had our first daughter in 1979 our house always seemed to be one size too small. We went from a midrise luxury condo that I had just before we were married. Then we moved to a nice townhouse with just enough room until our second daughter was born in 1987.
We had dreamed of a beautiful big colonial and in 1988 the opportunity presented itself when we met a custom builder that would build the house and that house would be in Armonk which is an excellent town with a top rated school district. Not just a dream house but a dream location.
Our miracle is that we got into the house and had everything arranged just before Christmas. Our younger daughter Ashley was still sleeping in a crib in the loft area of or townhouse. Now the girls had their own room with one more room to spare.
What makes this a miracle is that Christmas is such a warm family event and even more so with young children. We invited my sister and brother in law (top picture) for dinner along with nephew Jonathan. They loved the house too.
This was the best Christmas miracle for all of us. Older daughter Lindsay enjoyed playing in and outside of the house. These pictures were taken at the same time. Just digging these pictures out and digitizing them has brought joy to everyone in the picture.
This is my entry for 'Tis the season for miracles category of the challenge hosted by Andrea Bedard and Carol Williams .
