This is my Option 2 post which is to call an AR member we have spoken with before but have not talked with them in 2021 and an entry to the ActiveRain Bells Ringing During the 2021 Holiday Season Challenge hosted by Kathleen Daniels.
I placed a call to Beth Atalay on December 8, 2021. Prior to my call, I dropped a hint in a comment that I would be calling her soon so she was not necessarily surprised to hear from me.
I cannot imagine I will ever stop sharing my amazement and gratitude for the connections and friendships I have made in the ActiveRain community. When I talk with Beth it feels like we have been best friends forever. We talk about anything and everything. Nothing is off-limits. We trust each other and know there will be no judgment and our conversations are private and confidential.
One hour into my call to Beth and I said, "We have been talking for one hour, and everything we have discussed so far I cannot blog about." We both cracked up!
As most real estate agents can do, we brought the conversation back to real estate and other light-hearted life events.
Beth's real estate market is crazy but it has slowed down. She does manage long-term rentals for her clients. Brian England of Vacassa manages the short-term rentals. Another great ActiveRain connection!
She recently returned from visiting her son in Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. She was there for eleven (11) days. This is their annual tradition. They hung out at the Venetian in Las Vegas for three (3) nights before Thanksgiving.
They check out Thanksgiving morning then head home for their annual mother and son Thanksgiving dinner. She pre-orders a turkey from Whole Foods. They cook their meal together.
Beth spends a week with her son in Las Vegas. When Beth asked her son what he wanted for his upcoming birthday, he told her that the best gift is spending time with her. I got choked up typing that.
When a son tells his mother the best gift is spending time with her, you have got to know how wonderful she is.
Beth, thank you for your time and for being a wonderful mother and AR friend.
