Tomorrow, a storm door is opening in Sacramento. The long range forecast has rain each day for the next 7 days. Today, I took a short drive up to nearby Old Town Folsom.
Snook's Ice Cream Shop has great flavors. Catty Corner from Snook's is the old train station pictured here. While enjoying a Pistachio Nut cone on a bench outside of Snooks, it provided a pleasant sight!
Old Town Folsom has delightful shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. And, during the holiday season the ice rink is open!

Sounds like a fun place to visit, Myrl. Love the photo!
We are due for stormy weather for the holiday, too, beginning later this week and into the weekend. Not fun for traveling but the rain is badly needed.

Good morning, Myrl... thanks for the link to Folsom... I enjoyed exploring the town on-line and it sounds like a wonderful place. Maybe one day I can explore it in real life.

Good morning Myrl,
I fixated on the pistachio nut ice cream, and the rain clouds are coming in as I look out my window. We are supposed to get rain on Thursday and into Christmas Day. Rain is a wonderful gift for California as is the snow that will fall in the mountains. A

Jeff Dowler, CRS - You're right about California needing all the rain we can get. I was sitting here thinking though. I can't remember a single Christmas that it has rained in Sacramento, and I've been here all my life. Our long range forecast shows we will have rain for the next 10 days. It should help fill up reservoirs.
Michael Jacobs - No question about it, Johnny Cash left his mark on Folsom. There is even Johnny Cash Trail named after him. https://folsomcasharttrail.com/the-trail/trail-map

Roy Kelley - It's been nippy here in Sacramento as well. I had hoped to rise near the hour of the Winter Equinox arrival here in Sacramento (7:59 AM PST). The mind was willing, but the body balked.
Nina Hollander, Broker - If you ever make it this way, be sure to visit Old Town Folsom, and especially Old Town Sacramento.
Ron and Alexandra Seigel - I came in from outside a little while ago. I was doing some chores out there, that I likely won't be able to complete once the rains begin later this afternoon. We are slated for 10 days of rain.

Ed Silva - Northern California has several train stations that look similar. They are nearly always painted the same color. Nearby Colfax, Lodi, and Old Sacramento come to mind.
Rocky Dickerson - Folsom loves Johnny Cash, and I especially love nearly all his tunes.
George Souto - I'm glad I took that little trip. A storm door is opening up later this Sacramento later this afternoon. Extended rains for several days will make it uncomfortable to be out and about.
Good Thursday morning, Myrl.
Best wishes to you and your family for a Very Merry Christmas.
Now that I know how much rain came in, I'm happy for you guys - you so needed it, Myrl!
As for the ice cream - now I'm going to crave my favorite - Pistachio almond fudge!
