Once upon a time

there was someone who

really needed a glass

of wine. It was me. 

The end. 

I found this wine bottle gift bag at one of my favorite stores along one of my favorite Main Streets - Sweet Elizabeth Jane in Ellicott City, MD - and just had to get it. I love it so much that I almost didn't gift it! It is a true story after all. 

Besides sharing this very brief Christmas story with you, I am also happy to report that I once again succeeded in completing 75% of my Christmas shopping at locally owned small businesses. Not one present was purchased on Amazon. I am striving for 100% and will get there, perhaps next year.

Happy Christmas Eve Day, Andrea... good for you and I'm impressed with your local shopping accomplishment. As all our grands are grown now and all they want are gift cards, my own Christmas shopping has become very simplified in recent years. But I'm all about trying to shop local when and I can and buying American.

I started a few years ago and just try to purchase as much as possible at local small stores. You are right, it's become easier now that I have teenagers in the house. I cancelled my Amazon account a year or so ago! Haven't missed it. Merry Christmas Eve Nina Hollander, Broker!

Love the wine saying... and it's great you did local shopping. I didn't buy many gifts this year, but those I did buy I ordered from the store in question since we don't have a branch of that store here. But I love the idea of doing all local shopping. Kudos to you!

I avoid them like the plague Kat Palmiotti, and will only make an exception when purchasing gifts for the family in Germany. That is still the easiest when I can't travel and deliver myself.

Thank you Joan Cox! I gifted Glühwein, the spiced mulled wine they sell at the traditional Christmas markets. I enjoyed a couple glasses of Tennessee Shine Wine that I got from clients. Merry Christmas to you - it's the 2nd day of Christmas in Germany, so we are still celebrating today 🎄
