Will Home Prices Decline in 2022?

Thinking about buying a home in 2022. If so you're probably asking yourself is now a good time.  Will a home lose value in 2022?  Or will home appreciation continue in 2022 and beyond in the Tarrant and Denton County Texas market?

There are still more home buyers than home sellers heading into the new year, and even with more inventory coming on the market that doesn't appear likely to change.  The law of supply and demand doesn't change.  So experts projects home prices will continue climbing in 2022, just at a more reasonable pace.

No major industry expert expects home depreciation in 2022.  In fact, their estimates average out to a 5.1 percent increase across the U.S.  So what does that mean for us here in North Texas?

While we likely won't see the 22% year over year increases we have seen in 2022, we still many more motivated buyers in the market and few available homes.  This supply and demand imbalance will continue to push up prices for a while longer. New home builders are trying to catch up, but even at full speed it will be a few years before there is inventory to meet the demand.

Let’s get together and chat about what’s happening with home price appreciation in our market so you can make an informed decision about your next move.

Cindy, I don't think home values will decrease in Denver, but HOPEFULLY they won't rise at the same pace they did this past year.  We saw 24% in May.
