Blog Fog....Does It Happen to You!

Since blogging I have been pretty consistent and probably average at least 2 blogs per week.  I want to write quality blogs and I want them read and comments too.  You could say I expect a lot.  Normally when I write I do get comments and my posts are read but the problem is I have a case of "Blog Fog!"  Does this ever happen to you?

Blog Fog can be recurring and can be harmful to your business. So what is Blog Fog?

It happens something like this.........You sit in front of your computer every day attempting to post something of quality to only log out and attempt it again later.  Your attention span is similiar to a 2 year old's, instead of blogging you surf the net and find yourself on youtube laughing it up.  You log in you log out.  The family asks,"What's wrong? Why aren't you blogging?"  Your e-mail is full of "Where have you been? "The next sentence is "I can't, the words aren't coming to me." You just can't do and you don't want to do it.  So guess what.....you don't.  Before you know it your website placement is not where you want it to be or you haven't made any new contacts since blogging last.  So what is a girl to do?

Rest your mind and don't put so much pressure on yourself.

Take a step back and start reading other people's blogs.  There is so much quality content on ActiveRain which makes it very easy to miss some great posts.  I try and go back for the entire month and read through all blogs.  I know I can learn something from everyone.

Read other people's posts and get those creative juices flowing.  Let other people's great works of art inspire and motivate you.  No plagarism....only inspiration.  There are many great authors out there that may not have the notoriety that other's experience they too should be acknowledged.  Many times that is who I focus on.

Invite other's to join the community, you can still be involved daily and contribute to the network. Invite 2 friends and they tell two friends and so on and so on.

Take the time to comment and rate the posts that you read, I am sure the author would really appreciate it. I do! Just because you have blog fog doesn't mean all of what you have done is lost.  Somehow bring yourself to comment.  Commenting will help create healthy blogging habits, so when the time is right and the mind is right you will be able to do it again.  For me the time is now.  Thank Goodness....

The fog has lifted......Here comes the sun and finally a blog post!!!

Midori - I know exactly how you feel. I posted along a similar path the other day in "Have you ever lost your voice?"

I've had instances of blog fog myself.  I find that my inspiration usually comes in the middle of a situation when I don't have time to write, so I rely on Google Docs to keep me on track.  I just post my idea quickly and follow up on it later when I have the time.  This keeps me from using the trick that never works (for me, anyway) of "I'll remember this later and write about it."  It always slips my mind if I don't log the idea when I'm thinking about it, and then later I stare blankly at my screen during my scheduled blog time.  Great post on getting ideas from reading and commenting on other blogs!

I find the easiest way to loose my writers block is to have a busy day.  So many things happen that new ideas come up.  I did a showing today that is an article all by itself.

Randy-Thanks for stopping by.  I look forward to your comments and words of wisdom.  Hopefully the fog is gone at least for a little while. You writer's block? So it happens to you to?  I don't feel so bad.  You are right our day to day lives are never dull and action packed.  Sometimes I am overwhelmed with all that I have to do in a day.  But each and every task seems to be a great blog post.  Hope your showing was a good one!!!
