The World Is/As a Puzzle

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Ward County Notary Services

My son, Timmothy, enjoys puzzles. He is at the point where size and number of pieces no longer matter. That being said, he is NOT looking for the impossible. I think he chooses by photo content (again, not looking for the most difficult).

Santa brought him this one for Christmas and he just completed it yesterday.

Every day we all face puzzles. Sometimes conventional and routine... like what am I going to wear today. Some times the puzzles are less conventional or routine like the jigsaw puzzle above and we react with "I've never seen this before" but we forge on to "get it all together".

Often Carol likes to help Timmothy put the puzzle together. Once in a great while I help out.

Sometimes in life we need help with our puzzles. There is nothing wrong in needing and asking for help. Sometimes it's nice to get help even when we don't ask for it.

Once in a while, as there was with the puzzle above, there is a piece missing. It's hard to replicate a piece for a jigsaw puzzle. It's hard to replicate a piece of our life that is missing. Sometimes it's impossible. That is when it's really nice to get help. If no one offers maybe no one is seeing that a piece of your life is missing... that's when it's best WE act and ask for help.

My wife is a puzzle person as is the youngest grandson and they had one that took them almost a year to finish and they did not want help.  Had there been a larger puzzle present it would have been noticed and it would have gotten as much attention as was needed to fix

I think the one prior to this one took my son and wife nearly a year as well Ed Silva . I was surprised as to how fast this one was completed.

That globe puzzle is something I haven't seen before, Bob.  It's quite unique.

The way it is set up it really was not much of a challenge Myrl Jeffcoat but it was disappointing that there was that one piece missing.

Myrl Jeffcoat It kind of makes me want to find one and buy one for myself and my family and friends do you have some fun with

Laura Cerrano  it is a neat puzzle but not a good one for team work. I'd recommend finding one with art you like. The back side of the pieces to this one are numbered so it's not much of a challenge.

It is like blogging Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS . I set out to take a picture of the puzzle and announce it's completion. The real meat of the blog just came to me when I mentioned the missing piece. I felt someone reading this needed the message.

HI Bob- what a beautiful analogy that you shared with us. When I was younger we would always put jigsaw puzzles together. And now I work jigsaw puzzles on my computer using a program called Brainsbreaker. I've had it for well over 10 years. You can make puzzles of all different sizes and you can take any photo and turn it into a jigsaw puzzle.

Oh that is really cool Kathy Streib . I want to tell Timmothy about it but I'm afraid that if he does that then mom will be left out.

It's different but I've worked a puzzle with my niece on my laptop.

Wow, that is really cool, I have never seen a puzzle that didn't lay flat before.  He did a great job with that one.

It was really tough, if not impossible, to get the surface as smooth as it should be Brian England because you don't want to press to hard.

What a wonderful analogy! I've always loved doing puzzles.... and yes, there are times when we may need to ask for help and that's perfectly fine.

Thanks Kat Palmiotti . These days no one should be ashamed to ask for help. It's a tough world out there to navigate these days.

Thank you Dorie Dillard Austin TX . It is a neat puzzle and it comes with a tab to hang it up. I thought someone out there could use the analogy as well.

Hi Bob our holiday was full of puzzles this year.  I just happened to see a series of 'engineer-type' puzzles in the check out line.  Of course I had to pick it up for Gary.  He had a blast trying to figure them all out. Not so easy.  Then it was on to other puzzles for more quests.  I love this Sperical Puzzle in your post.  How interesting!!

Hi Anna Banana Kruchten CRS, Phoenix Broker I'd like to take a look at those engineering puzzles myself. Not saying I want to do one but I know I'd like to see one.

Bob they are called Project Genius (I think).  Google it and see what pops up.  There also is a website that shows how to solve each little puzzle if somebody can't figure it out.  Which is the case!!   Gary even had a hard time with some of them and he's an aerospace engineer!

Bob:

This was a terrific analogy - we all have puzzles in life, but we don't always get to choose them. And getting help of some sort is often a good idea.

Will do Matt Brady . We do have plenty of puzzles with our occupations don't we. Even now, in retirement, I have the puzzle as to how much time I want to spend working as a notary and how much time I can just relax and enjoy myself.

What a cool puzzle! And you're right--sometimes life is a puzzle and sometimes, when we are missing the pieces, it's wise to ask for help.
