Ever heard the phrase "Run it up the flagpole and see if anyone salutes?"
It means to throw a bold idea out in public to see if gets people's positive attention (e.g. a "salute"). This term is commonly referred to in beta testing new ideas for advertising and print media.
"Run it Up the Flagpole and See if Anyone Salutes Day" is a great excuse to try out new ideas, looks and concepts in business and personal life.
For example, if one always dresses in black, add color, such as a bold yellow tie or paisley scarf.
Consider running up a literal flag at the house, too. It could be the American flag, one for an obscure holiday or even a sports team pennant. Remember the New Year is a good time to test out new marketing ideas.
Who knows? One might discover a new side hustle for success.
