As the first full week of this month evolved, we found ourselves reaching for Eckhart Tolle's books and re-reading them once again. We both find that in times when we start to react to whatever situation comes our way, we stop.
We stop ourselves from creating an avalanche of negative momentum that can bury us. It is easy, it is normal to fall into this trap! In the long run, it just does not feel good.
I chose the following five quotes simply because they reminded us to stop and be still. Perhaps they will do the same for you!
"When you complain, you make yourself a victim. Leave the situation, change the situation or accept it, all else is madness."
~ Eckhart Tolle
"Once you have identified with some form of negativity, you do not want to let it go, and on a deeply unconscious level, you do not want positive change. It would threaten your identity as a depressed, angry or hard-done by person. You will then ignore, deny or sabotage the positive in your life. This is a common phenomenon. It is also insane."
~ Eckhart Tolle
"There is nothing that strengthens the ego more than being right. Being right is identification with a mental position - a perspective, an opinion, a judgement, a story. For you to be right, of course, you need someone else to be wrong, as so the ego loves to make wrong in order to be right."
~ Eckhart Tolle
"The power is in you. The answer is in you. And you are the answer to all your searches: you are the goal. You are the answer. It's never outside."
~ Eckhart Tolle
"Do not pollute your beautiful, radiant Being nor the Earth with negativity. Do not give unhappiness in any form whatsoever a dwelling place inside you."
~ Eckhart Tolle
The last two quotes are my favorites. We wish Everyone a wonderful week!
