How does time move so quickly? It is hard to believe that I started posting to ActiveRain in 2010. It is even more difficult to believe that I have never really gone back to review my older posts. My friend, Joan Cox, gave me the idea to take a look back with her recent year in review post.
Which posts received the most views?
- Elk Grove Real Estate Update, 1/11/2021 3,711
- Painting Baseboards After Floor Installation 3,283
- Sacramento County Real Estate Update 3,256
- I Want Some Soup 3,109
All the articles were written in January of 2021. It makes sense that they have the most views over the year. They were published early in the year and have had a longer time to gather views. The other thing that jumps out at me about each of these posts is that they all received a lot of short URL clicks, each over 2,200. Most of these clicks come from Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn so it is good to see that the posts are receiving interest on social media.
Which posts received the most comments?
- Change 52

- Painting Baseboards After Floor Installation 50
- Single Family Zoning and California's New Law, SB-9 49
Three of the top four posts were featured. Actually, the top five commented posts out of my top eight were featured posts. The only one not featured and that also made it in the top viewed posts was the painting baseboards article. I may need to start writing more painting articles. They seem to do well.
Which posts have received the most views since 2010?

I was surprised to see that the Wilton Home post scored so high. It is the home in the feature photo. It is a beautiful home, but it was not even my listing. I was just helping a friend. I was also surprised to see that my Market Update had over four times more views than my second most viewed post. It makes me wonder what I did right. That particular market update just does not seem that unique or special. It is also interesting to see another painting article that has done so well.
It is obvious that I need to keep doing my market updates and that I need to include more from my paint contracting experiences, but what else can be gleaned from my past posts? I would love to hear your feedback? Am I missing anything?
