Volunteers Sought for Green Month Fix It Fair
Are you a “fixer”? Do you like to tinker? Are you handy with a hammer, a screwdriver, or a needle and thread? The City’s Environmental Affairs Committee is planning its first ever Fix It Fair on Saturday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Casey Community Center.
Volunteer “fixers” with experience in small appliances, lamps, jewelry, textiles/clothing and tool sharpening are sought. Residents will be able to book appointments, letting our fixers know in advance what they’ll be working on. The free fixing will then take place in 30-minute time slots on April 23. The event is part of this year’s Green Month celebration and is designed to save useful materials from ending up in landfills. More details about how to register to have something fixed will be available as the event draws closer. Learn more about being a volunteer “fixer” here.
This is a City of Gaithersburg, Maryland announcement. Please share this with the "fixers" among your circle of contacts.
