Alcohol Beverage Services Temporarily Reduces Retail Hours
Montgomery County’s Department of Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) has temporarily reduced hours at all 26 of its retail stores due to COVID-related staffing shortages. The temporary business hours will be noon-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Sunday hours will remain noon-5 p.m.
“Montgomery County appreciates its outstanding workforce more than ever,” said ABS Director Kathie Durbin. “ABS remains committed to excellent customer service, and we look forward to returning to regular hours once this current wave has passed.”
A complete list of all ABS stores, including locations, hours and phone numbers, can be found at https://montgomerycountymd.gov/ABS/stores/.
ABS is the alcohol wholesaler of beer, wine, and spirits for Montgomery County and operates 26 retail stores throughout the County. In addition, ABS manages alcohol licensing, enforcement, and education for more than 1,000 businesses. Generating more than $30 million in net income annually, its profits are used to pay down County debt with a large portion deposited in the general fund to pay for resident services that would otherwise be funded by County tax dollars.
