Pictured above is the top of Diamond Mountain in Calistoga. It is part of the Constant-Diamond Winery in the Napa Valley. On Diamond Mountain the winery is partly in Sonoma County and the other part is in Napa County.
The same grapes produce a distinctly different flavor to the wine based on the county it is in. The difference is in the make up of the soil and the age of the soil. It is not just the county, it can be the hill or how and when the sun hits! There is so much that goes into winemaking! It boggles the mind...
