Martin Luther King, Jr. Worthy Of Our Respect And Honor.  Martin Luther King, Jr. deserves this honor and much, much more.  Some may argue that his dream has not been fulfilled, but I would argue otherwise.  However, this is not the blog to make that argument, this blog is to honor a man who saw beyond color, and focused on equality for all.

Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream not for himself but for all mankind.  A dream of equality, freedom, and justice.  Nothing Martin Luther King, Jr. did centered on himself, it all centered on others.  His life was one of service to others unconditionally.

As a young boy from a different country, Martin Luther King, Jr. taught me a major life lesson, one that I learned very early in my life.  He taught me not only to dream, but to fully expect the dream to be fulfilled.  No matter how huge or impossible the dream may seem, it can come true if we are willing to climb to the top of the mountain, and work to fulfill our dream.

I Hope you take the time today to reflect on the life of an honorable and just man, who left an example of how to live in service to others.  Martin Luther King, Jr. Worthy Of Our Respect And Honor.

George what an awesome post, sadly in my state the Trash Collectors could not take a day off since Ronald Regan made it a Federal Holliday in the early 1980's I am sure Hannah Williams  would appreciate this comment, Endre

I can't believe that his dream has still yet to fully come to fruition, it should be something that is a way of life.

Brian unfortunately those who should be trying to get rid of segregation and discrimination, are promoting segregation and discrimination.

Hi George - his words were inspiration.  He wanted us all to pursue dreams and judge people by their character.

We all look for our passion in life. Not many of us will ever give our lives in pursuit of that passion.

George I am back and I saw your response to one of the comments, indeed I have many friends on both sides of the isle, we did not look at our color of our skin we were just friends based on our principles and morals.... I find that politicians want to divide us to give them power like the old saying in the military "Divide and Conquer"

Endre Barath, Jr. - My first year in High School was the first year for bussing in my area and the girls I went to school with from Cabrini Green in Chicago had the same dreams like me. Some excelled in class and others stayed focused on what needed to be learned, just like all of us! I was an honor student and was aware there were girls from the Cabrini Green housing project much smarter than me. As a class, we grew to know, love, and help one another despite the civil rioting going on at that time. I included a link for the housing project I referenced but the author fails to mention how much good came out of it during my high school days and how many girls graduated and had a better life because schools like mine really, really cared about the dream. We took that dream to heart to mean the dream was for all of us, regardless of who we were. And we did get along. Sadly, bad news gets press coverage.
