Ask An Ambassador: Tuesday Techie Tidbit -
Spell Check Advances

Every Ask An Ambassador: Tuesday Techie Tidbit post is a BRAVO to the developers working so diligently at ActiveRain. Spell Check Advances are one of the best new offerings on the Blog Editor.

NOW a word not spelled correctly has the squiggly red line underneath!

So easy to spot what needs to be reviewed! The earlier Blog Editor looked like this:

               Note the "ABC"

Without the graphic color signal, one had to check every post to see if any thing was wrong. Kind of like asking someone how to spell a word and then getting the response "Go look in the dictionary."  Hard to do if you don't know the spelling!

As of January 2022, the Blog Editor sported a streamlined new look:

           No more "ABC"

With the technical benefits of the AR Developers' work, more AR members' time may be spent on content! Write away as you enjoy the new Spell Check benefit.

Lynn as a person whose English is the third language not first or second I do appreciate the spell check .... needless to say I suffered through the period when it did not work:)Endre

Good morning Lynn. Progress continues and that is a good thing. Limiting daily posts to 20 is fantastic. Enjoy your day

their they're there are all can all be spelled correctly but not grammatically correct. People will need a plugin like grammarly to get these notifications. But we are very happy to see the immediate feedback (for spelling help) red squiggly line again with a right click to offer suggestions... that is much simpler. One of my biggest pet peeves is when somebody says "your welcome" and I think you know what I mean! ;)

Lynn AR recently made a change to the spell check in the comments as well.  It use to be that we got the red squiggly line under the word, but it did not provide a list of possible correct spellings.  As of last wee it now provides that choice if we right click on the word.
