In a recent transaction, where the sellers relocated prior to closing, the escrow company needed the propane tanks' percentage reading. While out at the property I decided to make a quick video on how propane tank leases and propane tank levels typically work in a Washington real estate transaction.

This is good information to share. 

Most of the communities in our market have natural gas.

Thank you Roy. Our inner town and city neighborhoods are natural gas as well though a big part of the County is still rural.

Toby, we have only rural homes with propane, and yes, we have had to do a reading prior to closing.

Does the new buyer usually purchase the remaining propane from the seller like here in Washington?
