As I pass 400k in points and head towards 500k, I am amazed at my friends on ActiveRain that have made it to the top. It has taken me over 10 years to get where I am. It is remarkable that Roy Kelley, Ron and Alexandra Seigel, Barbara Todaro, Bob Crane, Joan Cox and Kathy Streib all are close to 5 million or higher. I will never make it at the rate I am going. I am always amazed at the hard work and commitment that it takes to perform at such a high level.
Now, let's discuss cryptocurrencies for a bit. I was at our eXp Convention, eXpCon, in October and took a Cryptocurrency in Real Estate Class. It was a fascinating class. Cryptocurrencies are good at creating value where there was no value before. They are doing in all kinds of areas; as a store of wealth, for business transactions, in real estate, at Steemit (a blog site) and even in electronic games . At the end of our class, everyone that had an active real estate license was rewarded with 1,000 shares of Propy, a real estate cryptocurrency. $3,200 at today's market price.
Why did they just give it to us? They know a network becomes more valuable the more it grows. If the network of owners are real estate professionals that may one day use Propy, then the value proposition is even better. Propy even have a learn and earn program that rewards agents for just learning about their cryptocurrency.
All this has me thinking. I know, that could be a very dangerous proposition, but if electronic game companies can reward Gamers with cryptocurrency, why not reward real estate blogging with a real estate crypto? It seems like a perfect match. It could do two things; reward those that put out good content and it could make ActiveRain a cutting edge "go to" site again. It would also create an even bigger, more valuable network for the Propy.
Of course, I do not know how to make it happen, but it is something to think about. In the mean time, sign up at Propy and get 100 free tokens (follow the Learn and Earn Link above). A $300 value at today's prices will not make you rich, but, as Dick Van Dyke used to say, "it is better than a sharp stick in the eye."
Next stop....500,000! ! !
