Camping this Year - You Will need a Permit in Advance in Colorado

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with House to Home, Inc. - Denver Real Estate - 720-231-6373 DRE# ER40011786

It is tough thinking of camping right now, with temperatures in the 20's, but camping season is around the corner.   Many Colorado residents (and outside Colorado) are thinking of camping in the Rocky Mountains this coming spring and summer.

In January 2020, Colorado required camping reservations at all state parks.   It is quite easy to reserve a campsite, but need to be done in advance.  This site is available 24/7 by phone - 800-244-5613 or make your reservation online.   These reservations can be done six months in advance, so now is the time to start making plans!

  • Book online
  • Book by phone:  800-244-5613

If you have questions - please call 800-678-2267 or 303-297-1192

There are over 4,000 campsites and 58 cabins and yurts located throughout the state, which offers something for everyone!   Enjoy what Colorado is known for - the great outdoors!

Campground amenities include restrooms, full-electrical hookups and shower facilities.    Many parks also offer campsites or cabins for large groups.   300 campsites are ADA accessible.    Yurts and cabins offer comfortable, year-round alternatives to traditional camping.

I've only camped a few times but this seems like a good idea.

Carla Freund I used to camp a lot when I was younger, but prefer the hotels now.

Yes, that is my kind of camping. We did camp for a week on Lake Powell in Utah/Arizona and had so much fun. We were with my sisters-in-law and their husbands. We were on the boat during the day and camping at night. We had so much fun. I'll let that be my last best memory of camping.

I know things change but I do get a kick out of some pick ups you can see heading off for 'Camping'.  While obvious they are planning an outdoor weekend or week they could just as easily be moving their belongings from one house to another.  I too prefer the hotels now over camping.  Mark

Hello Joan - proper preparation can make any experience more than a bit better.

Hi Joan... I went camping once with the Girl Scouts in the 1950's. That as an experience I never repeated since! :)

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint-Idaho guess my days of "adventure" are less, hotels seem much easier.

Nina Hollander, Broker sorry, still laughing outloud!   I went camping I think in the third grade with the girl scouts, in tents, and was pouring rain.   I did go again, in fact many times here in Colorado.   I can't see you camping.   🤣

When I think of Colorado, I think of all the great songs that John Denver dedicated to it's beauty. I need to investigate this for myself and get a pass Joan. I hope you are having a great weekend 🙂

we never know where we're going to stop and aren't "reservations" kind of people when we travel.

Thanks for the gentle reminder that I need to put in for various river rafting permits for 2022.  I was lucky to have drawn one for a private raft trip down the Grand Canyon.  I was able to go on another private trip last fall and it was EPIC.

I have never been much of a fan of camping out, probably the biggest reason that I didn't progress to boy scouts from cub scouts, haha.
