Homes on Clifford Lake Brighton Michigan

Clifford Lake in Genoa Township in Livingston County Michigan is also known to some people as Round Lake.  It is a small lake but a nice lake that people have been coming to for decades.  It is not too far from downtown Brighton or Howell.

Clifford Lake waterfront homes are on smaller lots. What I mean by that is they do not have wide lake frontage.  The lake frontage is sometimes as small as 50' of lake frontage. There is one home on a lot that is one acre in size, but I do not know of any others that are on lots over an acre in size.  Many of the homes are relatively close together.  This is not a lake if you are looking for space or privacy. 

The lakefront homes are a mixture of old and newer.  There are quite a few older cottages . (from the 1920's -1950's) all the way up to 2017.  Many of them have been remodeled and enlarged.  What sometimes started out as a 900 square foot ranch has sometimes ended up as a colonial over 2000 square feet.  The homes range from 650 square feet to about 5800 square feet.

Many times they don't have any resemblance to the old cottage.  It's not unusual for a old lake cottage to be turned into a year round home.  Quite a few of the Clifford lakefront homes are now colonials, and ranches with new exteriors, new windows, and garages added on. The lake houses have two to six bedrooms, one to five bathrooms, no garage to 5 car garages.  There are no condos on the lake.  The homes have wells and are on sewers.  There are all styles of homes on the lake from bungalows to contemporary homes.  Some homes have basements and others are on crawl spaces or slabs.

Round Lake in Livingston County is also called Clifford Lake by some.  It is part of a cluster of three lakes of East Crooked Lake, West Crooked Lake, and this lake. Clifford Lake is the smallest of the three lakes that are clustered together.  Clifford Lake does not connect or have boating access to West Crooked Lake or East Crooked Lake.  I hope you this information about Clifford Lake in Genoa helps you understand the lake and the waterfront homes. 

Round Lake is a private all sports lake that is about 46 acres in size.  Depending on who you talk to you may hear that it 53 acres in size.  It is not a big all sports lake.  The deepest part of the lake is 151 feet deep.  It is a kettle lake that was formed by glaciers thousands of years ago.  The children on the lake would go to Brighton Schools.

There is no restaurant on the lake, no marina, no public access, and no public beach on the lake.  There are no wake restrictions on the lake.  The lake is spring fed.  The streets around the lake a paved.  There are no canals on the lake.

Clifford  Lake Location

Clifford Lake is located in Genoa Township Livingston County MI.   The lake is south of I-96, east of Chilson Rd, west of Dorr, and north of Brighton Rd.   Near by lakes are Pardee Lake, Coon Lake, East Crooked Lake and West Crooked Lake.
