Carlsbad Art Wall January 2022
2022 is the 8th year of the Carlsbad art wall, and the 1st mural for the year is beautiful.
The most recent Carlsbad Art Wall was completed on January 10 and 11 by @HannasMurals. Check out Hanna’s website, too, for more of her amazing art works.
The Carlsbad Art Wall is a special addition to the Carlsbad public art scene, with new murals several times per year.
Bryan Snyder, a well-known Carlsbad artist, founded the Carlsbad Art Wall (CAW) in 2015, in cooperation with the owner of Senor Grubby’s Mexican Restaurant in Carlsbad Village. This visible venue gives residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy temporary public art by local, regional, and occasional international artists.
Even if you aren’t aware of the #CarlsbadArtWall name, you’ve probably seen the changing murals at Senor Grubby’s Mexican Restaurant on the east-facing wall. You can’t miss it, as it’s immediately west of the train tracks (opposite the Village Faire) as you are heading toward the beach.
Carlsbad has a growing reputation as an arts community with abundant public art (links to an interactive map on the City of Carlsbad website). You’ll also find art galleries, performance theater, and live music offerings during the year. The Carlsbad Art Wall is, indeed, a very special part of our vibrant arts community!
