Macaroni with Scrambled Eggs

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Hamm Homes

Being Pennsylvania Dutch and growing up there, the local Ladies Auxiliary Lynnport Community Fire Company would come out with a recipes book every two years.  I still see lots of recipes from my mom, both grandma and other ladies that I will pull out the cook book which this one is from 1956.

Here is a interesting recipe to try.

1/2 cup elbow macaroni

4 eggs

4 tbsp milk

1/4 tsp salt

4 tbsp butter

1/4 cup grated cheese

Cook and drain macaroni.  Beat eggs; add milk and salt, melt butter in frying pan.  Cook egg mixture over very low heat.  Scape eggs away from the side of pan.  When eggs begin to set, add macaroni and fold into eggs.  Place in dish, sprinkle cheese on top.    Mrs. Elwood Dotterer

Will,

Your recipe reminded me of a fun restaurant in Los Angeles.  They used to do eggs and angel hair pasta.  It was really good.  Happy Sunday!  A

Hi Will... this sounds like something my grandmother used to make with egg noodles. Can't remember the last time I combined eggs with pasta.

Interesting combination Will. I've not heard of this before. I'll have to try it. The eggs add a little protein so maybe that justifies eating mac n cheese.
