January 25 is Opposite Day! Or Is It?
Growing up in Silicon Valley, Calif., my youngest child Mo absolutely loved the idea of Opposite Day. Opposite Day was even an "event" at Mo's elementary school
With a long family legacy of pioneers and rebels, it's no surprise many of us embrace Opposite Day.
If I told Mo to clean the bedroom, and then later checked on progress to find it still messy, Mo would gleefully say, "It's Opposite Day! I thought you meant 'Don't clean my room.' Ha ha ha."
Many elementary and preschool children (not just young Mo) love the concept of Opposite Day. Even animated cartoon character SpongeBob SquarePants televised an Opposite Day episode.
Mo's sense of humor about spontaneously claiming "Opposite Day" often led me to feel like the figure in Edvard Munsch's painting "The Scream."
Hope Opposite Day is fun for you.
This blog post is dedicated to Mo Crowe...or is it? Just kidding...it's Opposite Day!
