The Historic French Market
New Orleans French Quarter
The Open Floor Plan for Vendors
Take a Walk to View the Variety of Things
The French Market in New Orleans has been open since 1791. The place has changed over the years. It was once food, seafood, vegtables, fruits and meats. An out door market. When I was in high school it was like a farmers market. Remember the $2 Watermelons with plenty of trucks full.
Now it is full of local vendors that pick things they want to sell along with food places. All the vendors pick up and leave when they close each evening. Such a big variety of items and tables. They always change with time.
Having a second home in the French Quarter or adjacent areas this is always a great place to visit. Easy to get here from the Warehouse District, Marigny and Bywater.
