Valentine's Day falls on a Monday this year. So, you might want to celebrate your love a little early. How? By showing our local artists some love at the Ventura Art Market (aka VC Art Market) this Saturday, February 12th. Then, go on a quest for painted rocks with a decidedly "love"-ly theme throughout the Ventura Harbor Village.

We love our art and artists here in Ventura County. The annual Art and Street Festival takes place every September. And Ventura itself is home to over a dozen fantastic art galleries. So, if you and your love fancy yourself a connoisseur (or just a simple fan) or all things artistic, you might want to visit the VC Art Market in downtown Ventura. Pick yourself up something to complement the beauty of your significant other.
The VC Art Market takes place on the second Saturday of every month. Various artists from around the Ventura area congregate here to sell their wares. Stop by and find gorgeous photographs, poems, handmade soaps and candles, furniture, jewelry, origami, pottery, glasswork, and more. Each week features something new from these amazing talents. Thus, this should be marked down on your calendar for a return visit each and every month. Shop locally and support our local talent.
Painted Rock Scavenger Hunt
In addition to the Ventura Art Market, make plans for something a little different with your favorite someone this Valentine's weekend. First, go to the Ventura Harbor Village between February 12th and 14th. Then, search high and low around the entire coast-side village for painted rocks. Local artist Lucia Elmore created these mini-masterpieces. Finally, when you find one, turn it over and follow the directions on the bottom. If you do so, you earn the chance at a $25 gift certificate to spend in one of the village's businesses. Winners will be announced within a few days of the 14th. Good luck and Happy Valentine's Day!
