If you we're no longer an agent..would anyone notice????

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Greenville Central

In church this morning the visiting pastor made a great point...

He said if we don't do our jobs in the community and the church as a whole did not service those less fortunate than ourselves then we can only ask the question: If our church closed its doors tomorrow would anyone in the community notice.

It got me thinking the same for my business.  Oh I'm not talking about your meet and greet wine tastings, Chamber meetings or redundant free food at open houses (although those ARE nice). I"m talking about serving your fellow American or Realtor when times are hard.

At Keller Williams we have a program called KW Cares: a program set up to assist other realtors within Keller Williams when times get tough. For instance if medical bills, deaths, loss of home ect. We spent millions donated within our company to help our fellow agents in Katrina.

But what did WE as individuals really do? It's easy to just open your pocketbook and then go on with your life feeling as if you DID something. But what about opening your homes, serving at the soup kitchen or helping with a Habitat build. We can build our client base but we lose our integrity if we don't build our value with serving our own communities.

C'mon people. This is what makes America tick. Let's get off our tuffs, create an hour a week and get actually involved. I've picked up clients through the relationships I"ve built, made some amazing new friends and can say I'm at least trying to help. I'm not tooting my own horn...just wondering what others out there are doing to help those in the communities? We all complain business is down and we need to prosepect more and get out there in front of people more. What if we combined the two to make a win win for you as well as improve the life of someone who might really be in need. Complain if you must about no time, but look at other countries and remember how truly blessed you are.

These small times of giving will make the community know you and miss you if you were no longer an agent....don cha think?

With the market as slow as it is, there are a ton of Realtors out there that nobody would notice if they left the business.  In fact many of them are leaving the business.  Your pastor is very right.  We all need to make some sort of difference.
