Pickleball, it is not just your father's sport any more!
Oasis Park-Elk Grove's Best Pickleball Courts
There are a few places in Elk Grove to play pickleball, but the best place to play is at the Oasis Park. There are 6 courts and they have excellent lights for playing at night. My wife and I have been playing here since the park opened and we have found that everyone playing here is very friendly for both beginners and those that have been playing for a while.
Other Pickleball Opportunities in Elk Grove
Horseshoe Park-Sometimes the Oasis courts can be a little crowded so this is my second favorite place. There is not real drop in play here so this is a great place to bring friends to play or practice. There are two pickleball courts lined on each end of a tennis court and you do have to provide your own pickleball nets. It easily accommodates eight players, even more if you are willing to rotate players in.
Batey Park-There are marked pickleball courts, but they use the tennis court nets, not pickleball nets.
Wackman Park-There are marked courts, but you need to provide your own pickleball nets.
Simpson Park-I have not played at this venue, but I believe the pickleball courts share space on the tennis courts.
Garcia Bend-This park is not in Elk Grove, but it is a short drive for those living on the West side of Elk Grove (The Laguna area). My mixed doubles pickleball partner, Debi Seifert, says this is one of her favorite places to play because, "it has a great vibe and the players there are very inclusive for players of all abilities, as well as, family friendly."
Indoor Pickleball Courts in Elk Grove
Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation-The times are Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 9-12:30 (subject to change). There is an $8 charge to play or you can buy a discount card for multiple visits. We have played here several times and really enjoy the atmosphere.
If you are looking for places to play and for players to plug in with, try the Playtime Scheduler App. It shows where people will be playing and their skill levels. It is a great way to find players of every caliber in your area.
Or join our Runnin for Rhett Meetup. We have weekly groups that meet in Elk Grove, as well as, the general Sacramento area, to play pickleball. There is a small monthly fee that is used to fund youth fitness in the Sacramento area.
By the way, if you are looking to purchase a home in a great pickleball area, give me a call.
If you are looking to sell your home, I would also love to help.
In either case, let's play pickleball! ! !
