Welcome to crazytown, USA!

Real Estate Agent with Jameson Sotheby's International Realty

I don't know what your region is like, but the housing market in my area (greater Chicagoland) is still crazy.  Lots and lots of multiple offers, listing agent restricting access to properties to just a couple of days, and then reviewing offers.

A recent listing that I showed to one of my buyers had 75 couples at their Sunday Open House, and reviewed 26 offers that same evening... (My buyer did not win the bid!).

Welcome to crazytown, USA.

Good morning Alan. Condos not moving that fast in downtown Chicago, but had no idea  the suburbs are that crazy. Never seen an instance of 26 offers on one listing. That is truly crazytown! Enjoy your day.

The suburbs are truly a hotbed of activity.  And not in the usual "The Young and the Restless" kinda way.

It's still crazy in the Phoenix metro area as well.  Even in the higher price ranges which makes it even crazier.

We're seeing buyers throwing insane amounts of money at listings... just to get a home to lay their itty bitty heads.

The worst I've ever been in was 11 offers and that was 7-8 years ago (my buyer did win that one).

Thankful that for the most part the worst we're seeing locally is 6 or 7 offers.  Some we win, some we lose.  And I've had a buyer or two just punt the idea of buying at all, not wanting to be a part of the feeding frenzy.

As a listing agent, the worse I ever had was 13 offers.  And I had to create a freaking spreadsheet just to keep track of the offers.

Hello Alan - it's never easy to be a buyer (or a seller either) as all kinds of "crazy" seems to be a part of the real estate scenario.  But somebody's gotta do it, right?

That's what they tell me, Michael.  That's what they tell me.

California has its own version of 'CRAZY' when it comes to the real estate market.  You guys may have invented it.
