Moving out of Idaho to Tennessee for Dummies!

It's been a while.
My last post was about moving to Idaho for Dummies. What happened!?

We moved to Idaho from Hawaii (the Big Island about 20 years) and built our dream home. Never say never ("We'll never leave here!").

After four years, we  had had enough.

The summers were beautiful, though last summer was seemingly 90 degrees for months on end.

THEN the dreaded winter. Keep in mind many people from Idaho love winter with all there is to do outdoors, however at my age, nada! I just don't like being cold anymore. Strange as that sounds having grown up in Alaska!

The cold is one thing, the snow another but the GREY GREY GREY winters was the last straw.

I have to have sunshine one day a month whether I think I need it or not, I NEED IT!

Our dream house over doubled in price (almost tripled) in the two years we lived there, so we decided to move to more accessible warmer pastures.

Why Tennessee?

Good question. Answer? Don't know for sure "why".

Consider, how many times have you heard what an incredible place Tennessee is? Well, so did we.

So we flew into Nashville, explored all Middle Tennessee and Eastern Tennessee for two weeks, and decided personally for us we liked Eastern side better.More rural more country.

So began our property search.

We've been here about 4 months and LOVE it! There is SO much to do!

I will be highlighting some of these great adventures in the blogs forthcoming, so stay tuned!

I suppose it would be appropriate for the phrase, Never say Never.  Just wait until you see the signs on the roadway to go see where young Davey Crocket Killed the 'Bare"

Hello Leonora - my nephew moved to Tennessee in 2019 and he seems to be enjoying his time living there.  Good luck in Nashville and feel free to share your experiences in an upcoming post.  You definitely bring a history of relocating with you.
