My blog signature page has never been what I hoped it would look like. I just shoved a bunch of links together and a whole bunch of short bullet point details together and there it was. Done but not anything close to what I hoped. So here we are, Springtime 2022, what a perfect time to do a refresh of an absolutely horrible set of pages that were my old blog signature page, or should I say "pages?" I had so much stuff on my signature page that you had to scroll twice just to get to the end.
Here's the old one...
I decided that trying to overload the potential home buying client that was looking at our blog page with every single thing we offer with our inspection was probably not such a good idea. It's not like it's all that hard to find on our pages whether Facebook, linkedin, website, it's all there. We have been in business for over 14 years and in that period of time, we have honestly tried just about every form of web presence. We paid a lot of money in the beginning back in 2007-2008 to a company for search engine optimization on a website that was so bad it's embarassing. The crazy part is, the website company lost our account info and never billed us a single dime, even after I reminded them we had not received a bill in over 30 months. Big picture, the free website was worth every penny. Or should I say every worthless penny.
I am pretty happy with our current website, slshomeinspections.com.
The designer did a really nice job of working in some really nice local pictures of the Kankakee, IL area. She put in an important section about all of our buyer protection warranties that we include with every single inspection. She made sure that there was a schedule now button on every page so no matter where you are on your SLS H Insp website and home buying journey, you can order an inspection. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, even on holidays. Someone will pick up the phone.
Finally, she made sure that the tagline "The Home Inspector with a Heart" story had it's own little section if anyone wanted to hear my heart attack in 2012. It's an actual story with a professionally done youtube video to watch with one of my daughters, Natalie, and my wife Mary. The year they made the video, I was asked to be the guest at the hospital donor dinner as the Grateful Patient, and that's when they showed the video to the dinner donor crowd. Quite a night and I was told they raised a boatlaod of money for the Cathology department.
I have a new partner creating facebook content that has been getting some great reviews and comments. That's our biggest change to our 2022 web presence.
