It's Officially Spring

At 11:33 AM EST we officially entered the Spring of 2022. It is 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness but going forward we will gain a few extra minutes of daylight all the way to late June.

The temperatures are still on the cool side only into the mid 50's so the colors of spring are slow to develop. I did see a few areas with potential and stopped to take a couple of photos.

As we get a little further into the spring days, the temps will warm, and the colors will pop as well. I can hardly wait.

It will be a while before we see flowers here Ed Silva but I did rake some leaves from a flowerbed today and found the chives are very active already.

Hi Ed Silva - Our temps are almost the same.  We have a cold front moving in and the temp is 55º.  Of course, we have had snow in early spring but if we don't get anymore soon,  we probably won't see it until next Winter. Happy Spring!

First flowers of spring are always lovely, Ed. I was in Charleston on Friday and Saturday and all the azaleas were blooming... not so much here in Charlotte as yet.

Hello Ed - I went walking yesterday morning on the first day of "official" Spring a bit later than usual and it was still a bit cool (by our Southern California standards).  The calendar may "say" one thing but nature often proves others factors to be true.  And, of course, weather is always subject to change.
