Finally…It Was About Time I Changed It! My New Signature
When the time has come to leave somewhere, someone, or something, I prefer to go. I wouldn’t say that I don’t look back or appreciate my past but I don’t want to linger. Basically, I don't like good-byes.
When I leave a function, I say good-bye to the host/hostess, then I’m gone. It’s not something I’m proud of, but it’s me.
So when we left Florida and were settling into full retirement, I wanted to keep moving forward…spending time with my family and old friends and getting back into Houston. The last thing I was thinking about was my blog signature.
However, freshening it and making sure that it reflected who I am was something that needed to be done.
First Steps…
Craig Daniels has helped me tremendously and not just with this challenge. So the first thing I did was reread his post How To Create an Effective Blog Signature. And I watched the video that he included…not just once but twice. If you aren’t sure what to do, the video walks you through it.
As luck would have it, my good friend, Sharon Tara, had already redone her signature and had a very handy tidbit about getting the Email Me text to link! I recommend reading her post!!!
Next…
I, as all good stagers do, edited the unnecessary and outdated. The first thing I did was to include only my Facebook and Instagram links. I updated my current status and how I can be reached.
If you follow Craig’s video you can do this in a short time and remember…you can always go back to edit it.
Place it in a DRAFT post and you can add or edit it when you want.
Tip…
When I completed the left column of my signature and moved to the right column, I was a bit befuddled because I couldn’t place my photo where I wanted it. I called Sharon again and she said it happened to her as well.
So if you go this route, when you do enter your photo or logo, as you add words below it, the photo/logo will move up the column.
Goals?
When we returned to Houston, I was fully invested in retiring with the exception of writing my blog. However, I’ve had some inquiries about virtual consultations from agents where there is no local home stager.
This will allow me entry into that if I go forward.
Here’s the Before and After:
By the way…I encourage you to go to Craig’s YouTube channel for more tips!!! And when you do, subscribe and Thank him for all that he does here!!!
There is still time to refresh your signature for the Refresh Your Blog Signature-March 2022 Challenge. And even if you aren’t into challenges, you may want to think about a refreshed signature for the future.
