Better Self Care for 2022, Part II.

Real Estate Agent with Innovative Realty Solutions Group BK3158345

If you read my January blog “Better Self Care for 2022”, you know I have several goals to end the year with a better “Me” than I started with.

The 1st quarter of the year is coming to an end so I thought I’m summarize my progress.

My 1st goal was to work on weight loss and flexibility. I have lost 10 pounds so far this year which met my goal of 3 pounds per month. I did not swim as much as I hoped because we had a very cold Winter in Central Florida but I have increased activities in other areas including my walking. My back has healed nicely so I will continue to work on the exercise to increase activities.

My 2nd goal was to take more time for myself and I’ve done very well with that. I’ve taken a 7 and 8 day cruise so far this quarter and I leave tomorrow for the third of the year! Someone asked me about costs of cruising. Fare, taxes, port charges, excursions, gratuities and on board expenses for the first two cruises totaled about $1500 for 15 days of cruising. That includes hotel, meals, drinks, gambling, and all entertainment. Travel keeps me grounded and it doesn't have to be expensive. I don’t need things. I enjoy making memories and seeing things. The last cruise costs including wifi, alcohol and fees so far is about $600. The only other expenses will be parking at the port and if I hit the casino. Since I came out with more money than I spent for the first two cruises and I don’t gamble much, I’m perfectly fine with that.

I did not get to Indian River Beach as planned but replaced it with San Juan, St. Kitts, Sint Maarten and the Turks and Caicos instead. I’m okay with that.

My 3rd goal is to not overwork. I did very well balancing work and play time this quarter.

Business wise, I closed nearly $1.6 million in real estate this quarter and at my age and point in life, I’m good with that volume.

I did have another setback, skin cancer snuck up on me but it is what it is. They got it early and I’m optimistic that they found it in time. Minor treatments and a lesson in taking better care of my skin.

I’m staying on track. This post is part of my accountability to myself.

Off to Bimini and the Bahamas until Friday….
