Is Small the new Big?

By
Home Stager with Decorate To Sell - Merrimack Valley Real Estate Staging

what do you seeAs Stagers you are right there when homes come on the market.  What house styles do you see when you stage new construction?

Building in our area is moving through a climatic change - carbon footprints, green LEED, wind farms and the price of oil.

Large parcells of land are a thing of the past - building roads can become not just a deal breaker but break the back of a business.

Work with spot lots and smaller parcells is the landscape now.  From this change of landscape comes a change in the style of the home.

What styles of home do you see now?
What do you see for the future?
Thank you for your thoughts.

Margaret, I would have thought my area would be more progressive but they are still building excessivly large homes (with no backyards), they do not use low or no VOC's and using every square inch they can find....I don't see it turning around and I wish they would go smaller, leave some land with the house and go GREEN!

Hi Carole - It is interesting to see how this is making an impact on regions - all real estate is local.  LEED ratings are being used to market homes.  All new concepts take time to go through that learning curve of acceptance - just like Staging - and feng shui!  Have a great evening!
