Google PageRank: What Do We Know About It?

By

So I was surfing the internets yesterday and today, trying to improve SEO and Page Rank efforts. I figured out why my Rank was so low. While re designing my website I inadvertenly deleted the meta tags. Of course I didn't figure this out until today when I did some research on the whole process. Obviously, there's a lot for me to learn still, but I wanted to direct everyone to this page Google Page Rank It has a lot of information on understanding how Google Page Rank works.

Thanks for the info. Seems like most people search the internet first when shopping, so this is critical information.

Nogui - Meta tags have no impact on your page rank. I wrote a detailed post on PR titled "Page Rank.. Huh?" which may help you shed some light on the subject.

Best wishes!

Don't think meta tags affect your page rank all that much - though they can affect how high you place in the search engine pages. Page rank is going to depend more on how many places your site is linked to and how important those other sites are.  You can actually place pretty high on the search engines though and not have a high page rank.  It is easier to place higher though and stay there if your page rank is higher.

Like they said PR is different. Your meta tags are to direct the search towards your site.
