Pictured is a row of lavender bushes. We spotted these at the entrance to a driveway. According to experts there are 30+ types of lavender bushes. They thrive in our Mediterranean climate.
When we lived in the Napa Valley, there was a lovely lavender farm up in a hill. We used to take visitors there. The place was on top of a hill. When the wind blew, the scent of the lavender perfumed the air. It was heady!
I reminds me why I cannot imagine living up north again. All year long warm climates seem to have different colors to enjoy.

We have one of the largest Lavender festivals in Sequim WA every year. Sequim also is one of the highest producers of lavender. When it is all in bloom, it is a spectacular view to see.

Roy Kelley that is nice close up. There is a French lavender whose stems are very thin and so is the flower. And the color is a deeper purple. A

I can smell them from here. Love lavender. I have found a variety with white blooms, but they don't winter well for some reason.
