Are you an organ donor?

We had a benefit at my church this weekend to help a family who is going through a very difficult time. This gentlemen is recovering from a double lung transplant and they were sharing what a difficult ordeal it is when you receive an organ from another person. Now he is facing having to go through a kidney transplant because his kidneys have failed.

They were explaining the importance of being an organ donor and how there are so many people out there that are waiting to receive organs that are vital for them to continue life. We never really think about what a difference we can make in someone else's life whether it be by donating blood or organs. I donate blood as often as they will allow me to and I am also an organ donor. What about you? Do you actively participate in blood donations and are you a registered organ donor or do you disagree with it?

Thank you for the information! I hope my organs are used, after I am finished with them.

I do not get to donate blood, I am banned for life by the Red Cross. When I was eightenn, I gave blood at a blood drive after a really bad day at work(Factory line.) My ALT level was up a some and my blood was discarded and sent a letter. Never tested high again, maybe just a bad day or bad reading.
