Sunday is one of the most enjoyable days we spend at home. Often, Bernie prepares a succulent roast chicken, steamed sweet potatoes, and a green salad for dinner. That's because it's one of mom's favorite meals.
Speaking of mom, she's been enjoying the NCAA tournament. Yesterday, she went downstairs to watch the game with my sister and brother-in-law. She was disappointed when North Carolina won, and she's still grousing about it this morning. Like many, she's especially sad for Coach K.
We celebrated Finnegan's second birthday this week, on Wednesday, March 30th. The two guys shared a few bites of doggy-birthday cake. Although, we had to keep brother Forrest from grabbing Finnegan's share. We think the birthday boy looked especially dapper in his best scarf.
Yesterday, I attended my grandson's first Lacrosse game of the season. Bernie chose to stay home with the dogs. He missed a nice afternoon. The sun warmed us as we sat in the stands enjoying a good game. Connor even scored one of the goals that led his team to victory.
This morning, daughter Kelsea, sent a photo of our tiny granddaughter who is in the NICU at a Denver hospital. She's continuing to gain weight and is reportedly doing very well this weekend. Thanks to those of you are keeping Ellie in your thoughts. She's four weeks old today and destined for big things!
Daffodils, crocus, and trilliums are dotting the yard with color. And, the cherry tree is close to blooming. Its fluffy, pink blossoms are always a stunning addition to the spring landscape. Hello Spring - what a treat you are for our eyes and spirits.
Tonight, while we enjoy our Sunday dinner, Bernie and I will pause and express our gratitude for family, and caring friends. It's been another ordinary, yet extraordinary week of life together. These are the moments we'll treasure. Happy Sunday to you too.
