Love Kitties?

Last week, Mar. 22, 2022 Zoya, an endangered Amur Tiger at the Roosevelt Park Zoo  gave birth to three cubs over the weekend.

The zoo said Zoya began giving birth early Saturday morning, with the first cub arriving shortly before 6:30 a.m., and the last shortly after 10:30 a.m.

The zoo said Zoya is taking good care of the cubs, and they will leave her to care for them for a few weeks before the zoo’s vets perform physicals and provide vaccinations. After that, the zoo said they will reintroduce Zoya to the cubs.

I literally see Zoya and the male tiger every day as I live less than 1,000 feet away from their zoo enclosure. It's really fun to see them and I'm sure I could easily did up a dozen pictures I have taken of them just in the last year.

It is Grant Schneider I am amazed at what/which animals can handle North Dakota winters. It seems pretty much all cats can handle our winters as I see them out in almost any kind of weather.

I can not take credit for the photos Joan Cox but as soon as the zoo allows the public to visit and take pictures I will have some. The top one is from the news and the other is from another zoos posting but I agree with you that they are precious... and destined to get way to large for my house.

Hi Ben DeHaven . I don't know how long the zoo will get to hold on to the pups as I'm sure they will get shipped off to other zoos when ready to be on their own BUT I sure look forward to watching them grow as long as we can enjoy them here in Minot.

Bob, loved this post and I am sure Mom is very protective of her babies so the Zoo Keepers must be very cautious...Endre

I believe it would be very scary to be in the same enclosure as mom Endre Barath, Jr. I think they can be viewed through a window if you are in the zoo but I am not sure as it has been a while since I've paid for admission.

You are welcome Roy Kelley . These days we just go once a year as it's pretty spendy. When the kids were young a season pass was cheap but today they have over priced themselves to a point it's unaffordable to many.

Bob, not many can say they live 1,000 ft from tigers in this country! If they are out in the snow, I wonder if they are Siberian tigers.

I'm curious why they need to separate the babies from Mom for a couple weeks for physicals and vaccines. They probably want to watch them awhile to ensure no anomalies.

Just saw your Amur tiger tag.  Russia homeland, that explains the snow, they're used to winter wonderlands.
