The First Quarter of 2022 Has Come and Gone

Attitude is Everything

The first quarter of 2022 has come and gone. So what have you learned?

I've learned that Covid mandates and restrictions really punched my business hard. If I ever swim out of this quagmire I will be a better person!

Secondly, it's been reaffirmed that no commissions mean no marketing funds. This is something I think we all knew. I have had a few listings and represented a few buyers; but, it has not been like it was before. I will make it out of this hole.

What quagmires have you noticed and what solutions have you imposed to swim out of it?

Sussie, glad to see you!   It has been tough since COVID, and my business has been down as well.

It is crazy and the shortage of homes to resale makes it difficult to get a client. I live 20 minutes from downtown Houston and about the same from Galveston. The number of Real Estate agents is well over 40,000. I think there are about 6,000 in Pearland which is in between where I live and Houston. That doesn't count where I live. So yeah it's been hard!

Susie sorry to hear you've been having a rough time.  Thankfully AZ has been an 'open' state and not all the mandates etc were imposed on us.  We had a couple of shut down's for few weeks early on back in 2020 but that was it so business has been good as we have a very hot market with many people moving to AZ.  Good luck on pulling things back together.  I've been there, done that, especially in the 2008 to 2010 days of short sales and foreclosures.  We found a new niche and worked on that till the craziness subsided.  Here's to you finding a niche that works for you!!  You will!

While working at the City of La Marque I had to work from home during Covid. It's dreadful with no restaurants open or business that you can go into to do drop-bys or anything. We are barely getting to hold Realtor events again. I am so happy about that. Slowly getting back to where it was.
