Carlsbad art lovers will be pleased the 24th Annual Art in the Village Fair is back for 2022. The fair was canceled in 2020 and was virtual last year.

This annual and popular fine art event showcases local and regional artists, and takes place Sunday June 26th.  The fair runs from 9 am until 5 pm and is free. Art in the Village takes place along State Street and Grand Avenue covering about 4 blocks. [photo is from a prior art fair].

Art in the Village is sponsored by the Carlsbad Village Association, and you’ll find both new and returning artists. Artists are jury-selected so you can expect high quality, and all artwork is handcrafted and unique.

Carlsbad is well known for its 1-day art fairs. Whether you are an art lover and collector, or not, strolling the Village streets to enjoy beautiful art and music on a Summer Sunday is a cool thing to do. Furthermore, it’s fun to just browse even if nothing strikes your fancy or you are watching your budget!!

The 2022 Art in the Village will feature works of art from 100 local and regional artists. In addition, you can also enjoy interactive displays, demonstrations, performance art, and live music.

We enjoyed Art in the Village in 2019, and I imagine this year will be similar with an impressive diversity of artwork. You should expect contemporary and classical sculpture, ceramics and pottery, digital art, photography, jewelry, paintings (watercolors, oils, acrylics, and mixed media), wood creations, metal, glass, furniture, and more.

Be sure to bring your credit cards and/or cash so you can have fun!

Our late June weather is usually pretty good and a great time to enjoy the outdoors and the beach. Carlsbad Village art fairs are always crowded, so expect some parking challenges in town. The good news is our parking is free. But consider your travel time accordingly.

The Coaster commuter rail station is 1 block away if you prefer public transportation to avoid parking issues, or are coming from a distance.

If you tire of exploring the art fair, there are plenty of retailers in the downtown area to visit. You’ll find multiple dining options, wine bars and coffee shops in Carlsbad Village, too. Plus the beautiful Carlsbad beaches are 2 blocks away for a stroll before or after the fair.
