Wordless Wednesday…Tiny Homes

Tiny homes have always intrigued me. Not for me…I’m from Texas and need my space. However, I am always interested in how someone actually lives in them.

When we were in FL, I saw these tiny homes at Green Cay in Boynton Beach. While some were temporary only, they were their homes and provided them comfort, shelter, and safety.

It’s not the size of your house that makes a home, it’s the size of your heart. Jane Lee Logan

Hi Kathy,

I love that quote, and I really enjoyed your take on "tiny homes".  Of course, that was not what I was expecting and that is exactly the point! Kudos!

I remember when I lived in Texas, I had a 4000 sqft home. We decided it was larger than we needed so we downsized to about 2300sqft. Our friends all called it our  Cute little Tiny House...it is all perspective. haha

Hi Kathy it is fascinating to me where some animals make their home. Tiny, for sure!  A few years back a dove family made a nest in a very flimsy bush we have growing by the front porch.  Not up on top where it would be more secure but rather in the middle where we could see the babies in plain view.  Not a very safe place.  We tried to go out the other door as much as we could so as not to disturb the Mom and babies. Never saw another nest in that spot again - thankfully.

Kathy, you spun that topic into a whole different one!    Tiny homes are not for me either, I like space too.

Kathy the human species is much different than all other species.  All other species only require shelters for their basic needs.

Wayne Martin I don't need luxury but I do need high ceilings.

Kat Palmiotti I'm with you. Our first apartment was 725 sq feet- 1 bedroom/1 bath. Larry and I wondered how we would have been if we were living in it during our stay-at-home period.

Nina Hollander, Broker you may value your space because it is so scarce in NY.  Have you found that you also need your own "me" room??

Grant Schneider He was actually repairing one of the blue bird boxes that we retrieved from the Preserve.

Kathy Streib good morning, Kathy... I guess you could say that the "me" room in my house is my office. One day when I stop working, it will become a total "me" room.

Brian England That was a good one!!!  I could see small but tiny????   I get claustrophobic in an RV.

Thank you Raymond Henson, eXp Realty Glad you like the photos. That saying "Home is where the heart is" also rings true.

Thank YOU, Roy Kelley And I hope that Chef Dolores is creating more wonderful dishes for you.

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 I guess it's all about perspective.   My first apartment was 725 sq ft but at the time it was all I needed.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® thank you!!!!!   You got it!!!  I have seen shows on Tiny Homes but I know it's not for me.

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty oh my gosh, that's funny. Space is also about how it's laid out. Our friends had a 2200 sq foot home but it always seemed so much larger to me.

Anna Banana Kruchten CRS, Phoenix Broker I'm amazed too. We pulled up to a bakery a few years ago and there in a cubby hole of the big sign above the door was a small nest. I'm still hoping to find a hummingbird nest someday.

I feel lucky as we have many hummingbirds in our yard due to all the blooming bushes.  The little babies are so adorable!  So tiny!!

Kathy Tiny Homes are very popular in the 20-30 some age group here in Los Angeles...in all fairness when I was in my 20's a one bedroom one bath room Dorm room was sufficient for me too.... as I grew older I discovered hoarding and learned I needed more space:))Endre

Those are definitely tiny homes! I can handle being in a camper for a weekend - as long as the weather is nice and I can stay mostly outdoors. I would not want to live in a tiny home. My feet are too big! (And yes, I have way too much "stuff.")

We downsized to a smaller home, and we are quite happy with it. But, the tiny homes would not be for me. I do well in our 38' trailer for camping but would never want to live full time in it.

Beautiful pics of the birds' homes!
