Carol,

It has been six years since I lost my right eye to a bottle rocket that an unsupervised child lit. Please everone, watch your children closely and always wear some kind of eye protection, even if the fire works are legal. Life can change in a split second but we can help to avoid injuries if we play it safe.

Steve - I agree. Fireworks are a big risk for the short term fun they provide. And, adults and children alike can fail to be responsible. I am a bit of a Nervous Nelly but it's better to be cautious than to see somebody injured - these kind of injuries are almost always permanent!

Gary - it's like Anywhere, USA when it comes to the 4th of July - but my goal is to keep the local residents informed!
