What activerain means to me ~ April Challenge
My first blog in activerain was in March of 2009 and I floated in & out of the Rain trying to discover what the concept of blogging was all about. The passion for blogging is an inherited trait from my Grandfather.
In 2015 I realized to be serious about blogging I needed to graduate from a Rainer account to a Rainmaker. I became a frequent participant in Q&A and discovered The Groups. The AR Baseball Junkies caught my eye in 2017 when William Feela posted a blog inviting members to form a team and join the fantasy league. Over the six years as an AR Baseball Junkie, my team has gone from worst to first, but has been consistently competitive and renewed my avid interest in baseball.
Using the power of the AR platform to expose my listings and monthly Maryland housing statistics has been an incredible benefit.
In 2020 when the Covid -19 pandemic hit I came out of my shell becoming a more frequent blogger, commenting on others posts and participating in Challenges.
In the past year the AR ZOOM meetings have brought to life participating face to face with many of the regular bloggers I read on a daily basis. It has also reminded me of what a small world we live in. On one of my first Zoom calls I asked Debe Maxwell if she knew an old friend of mine in Charlotte from my prior RELO network days; John Summers. Surprised Debe asked me "Did you say John Summers?" She said I just walked out of a meeting with him next door to my office! "WOW what a small world!" Another "Small world story" I read a blog post by Andrea Bedard about what a great job Tom McLister ,aka Turkey Tom ,did on a recent sale in Frederick, Md. It is amazing to find so many in the Rain who have great friends in common!
I have immense respect for so many of the activerain regulars who keep the platform alive and well. Communicating and trading stories with the regulars in my backyard , Roy Kelley , Margaret Rome and numerous others from all over has been a wonderful and rewarding experience.
