Air Fryer Breaded Sea Scallops

Will Hamm says he is getting carried away with the air fryer recipes. In my humble opinion, that is just not possible. My son recently won an air fryer in a contest and we definitely need plenty of recipes to try. Will used scallops in this recipe, but I am thinking shrimp would work too. I may need to make some aoli to go along with the scallops and/or shrimp.

I know I am getting carry away with Air Fryer recipes but I am using mine so much.

The is lightly breaded sea scallops in the air fryer with the same results as deep frying, but without the smell or mess.

Ingredients

1/2 cup finely crushes Ritz crackers

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning

2 tbsp butter, melted

1 pound sea scallops, patted dry

Directions

Preheat the air fryer to 390 degree

Mix Cracker crumbs, garlic powder and seafood seasoning together Place melted butter in a second bowl

Dip each scallop in the melted butter then roll in the breading until completely coated. Repeat with next scallop

Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray Arrange scallops in the basket so that they are not touching.

Cook in the preheated air fryer for 2 mins. Turn scallops over gently with a small spatula and cook 2 more mins.

Enjoy.

We don’t have an air fryer and haven’t had plans to get one. Guess I still like to grill a lot. But I may have to rethink that. Will’s recipe sounds pretty good!! I love scallops but my wife is allergic so not something we get very often

Good morning, Endre Barath, Jr. My son shared a guy with me on TikTok that cooks all kinds of stuff that is NOT healthy, but looks delicious. Many times, he says, "now, let's pop them into the air fryer." He drops whatever he is frying into a regular oil fryer. It cracks me up every time.

I have not used our air fryer enough to know how it works. I agree, it would be fun to see a few Will Hamm food pictures.

Hello Raymond - I keep reading (and hearing) about air fryers. But I am also learning about unexplained aerial phenomena previously known as unidentified flying objects. Meanwhile I seem to be waiting for the microwave oven to be "ready". What does it (or any of "it") really mean???
