A lot of people that move here, especially from up north, (me included) freak out over hurricane season. I must admit, when I first moved here I was set to spend the money! Stock piling, hurricane shutters, a generator, batteries, batteries, and more batteries. What the heck are we all using them for? Would you believe that the 1st experience I had here in Spring Hill was all about the batteries. There were none left in any store. Grocery, convience, hardware, you name the store. Gone. All of them. What I want to know, is where are all of those batteries now????????

lol Interesting stuff. I wonder how similar it is here to the earthquake situation. It's a great thing to be prepared, but in reality what's the danger really? How often is there a serious hurricane that passes through your area, and how bad are the damages?

Thanks for responding. A friend of mine moved here from L.A. Long story, maybe another time, well anyway, he was always worried about earthquakes. So what does he do, MOVES TO FLORIDA, and worries about hurricanes. Oh, I'm talking the whole nine yards. He's driving me CRAZY, glued to the TV weather station. Weather-On-The-Nines. I'm serious. Some people just buy into all of the hoopla. From my own personal experience, the damages have always been very minimal here. We seem to be in a protective little cove. They always just pass us by. To tell you the truth, I would love to be in the mist of some crazy weather. What can I say, I'm just that kind of girl. Do you need any batteries?
