Hello Nina, I was just talking to a client yesterday and he wanted to know how much I think it would cost to run a charging station in his garage.  He does not have a electric car yet but wants to get a head start on it.  Have a great day!

Will Hamm hi Will... from the numbers I've seen, it's considerably more expensive to run a charging station in one's garage than from a public station.

I did have to download the app that you supplied just to get the full impact of electric driving. I appreciate your thoroughness and happy Cinco de Mayo Nina 🙂

Hi Nina- more and more cities are providing places for residents to charge their vehicles. I can remember many years ago when we were in Delray Beach, they added charging stations to attract diners from nearby towns.

Nina, I believe our condo association board just installed one at our complex in Destin Florida. I have not been down to see it yet.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS hi Paul. I suspect we all have a lot to learn about the world of electric vehicles.

Kathy Streib hi Kathy... no doubt that we will be seeing more charging stations everywhere over time. I see the occasional luxury home here in Charlotte that has a private one installed in their garrage.

Mike Frazier hi Mike... here, too, in Charlotte, we are slowly seeing communities adding those charging stations.

I am noticing quite a few pop up in mall parking lots. This is a great idea for the malls. Captive buyers!

Nina, I have to smile... I drive a Lexus RX 350 and all I check is where the cheaper gas is.... people who own electric cars should consider adding a charging station to their home.... just sayin, Endre

Jeffrey DiMuria 321.223.6253 Waves Realty hi Jeff... I suspect we will continue to see charging stations popping up in all kinds of parking lots... not only is it a captive audience, it's a necessity for many to make it home.

George Souto good morning, George. I suspect that we will never have a big percentage of people switching to electric vehicles until they are comfortable knowing it will be quick and easy to recharge.

Endre Barath, Jr. hi Endre... I would agree with you about the convenience of adding a charging station in one's one home/garage... but it's not cheap. And not sure it's a great selling point until a much bigger portion of our population is driving electric cars.

Hi Nina - with the price of gas I am looking for hybrid.  Concerned about the range for electric.  Phyllis and I rode in Gabe Sanders Tesla.  That car drives itself.

Grant Schneider hi Grant... that's exactly what's keeping a lot of people from buying an all electric vehicle... the range and the inconsistency of place to "juice up." If I were to look at a new car now I would consider a hybrid, but not an all electric vehicle.

Nina thank you for your kind comment, I find that here in Los Angeles, people who buy electric cars like the Tesla's of this world the majority build a charging station to their home. My take is if they are willing to pay sixty thousand or more for a car they should make a few more thousand as a worthwhile investment for the convenience:)Endre

HI Nina,

Having access to a map like that is a real plus. I never got a diesel vehicle decades ago because you couldn't rely on that fuel everywhere.

Endre Barath, Jr. you got that right, Endre! But have you ever noticed that people will spend a ton of money on something and then get cheap about something... I've seen that so often when clients build an expensive house... and suddenly they "cheap out" on something that really should be upgraded.

Sheri Sperry - MCNE® good morning, Sheri... I remember people who drove a lot buying diesel vehicles to save money on gas... and now it costs way more to buy diesel than regular gas.
