We have been so busy moving lately that I found myself on my own this Mother's Day. Mary Margaret is turning our new house in Goodyear into our new home, while I work on selling our home in California. It is a strange feeling and, I think, this might be the first time I have spent Mother's Day without the company of either my wife, my mom, my step-mom or one of my late grandmothers. Each one of them very special in their own way.
Heringer Winery
A buddy, Anthony, was in the same boat as me and invited me to brunch at Heringer's Winery for their catered Mother's Day celebration. It was a very blustery Winnie the Pooh like day and I did not bring a jacket. It was cold! Remind me of this next week when I complain about our predicted 98 degree Sunday. As you can see, Anthony came prepared.
The delicious food and great live music made up for the weather, though, and the Strawberry Lemonade Mimosa was fantastic. We were also fortunate to share our table with a family that became our new friends. It was a fun afternoon, but one thing we both agreed upon is that moms do make the world go around. We missed their company today.
With all of that being said, I want to raise my glass, filled with our delicious new drink, to all of the wonderful moms in the world. CHEERS and Happy Mother's Day! ! !
